Ink Percent for combination patches adjusts the bleed of the light = dark ink patches. It is recommended that you not change this setting.

 

Swatch Bleed Control - When your initial swatch has patches that bleed, it is recommended that you not expose your color device to non-cured ink. The Swatch Bleed Control setting gives you the ability to substitute the bleeding patches by repeating the last adjacent patch that did not bleed. (E. g. If the last three patches bleed and you set the number of patches to clip at three. The adjacent (or fourth to last) patch will simply be repeated. The software will then clip the readings from the repeated patches) you may do this for all channels, or set each channel individually. Bleed Control can be configured to set all channels to one value or set per channel

Variable Dot Setup opens an advanced user dialog providing control over total coverage, rate of coverage, and drop by drop transition (drop ratios)

 

Percent is the amount of coverage from zero percent ink to one hundred percent ink. (Left to Right)

 

Target Percent is the amount of placement (coverage) from zero percent to one hundred percent. (Up, Down)

 

Edit - Click this pull down menu to select the coverage, or transition curve for each channel.

 

Coverage - This curve represents overall rate and total dot placement for the selected channel.

 

Transition[s] represent overall rate and volume of dot size to dot size transitions (E. g. Transition 1 - Small dot to Medium dot, Transition 2- Medium dot to Large dot)

 

Copy allows you to configure one channel and copy the curve to one or more other channels.

 

Input is the “Percentage. (Left to Right)

 

Output is the “Target Percentage. (Up, Down)

 

Amount is percent of dots used.

 

Dot Size represents which dot sizes are used.

Page Size - Choose the page size that you wish to print the swatch with.

Copies - Choose the number of copies

Orientation - Choose Landscape or Portrait. Landscape is generally used because it reduces media waste

Print Reflected - Select the Print Reflected checkbox to print a mirror-image of the swatch. This option is useful when printing on backlit or transparency media

Print Label - Select the Print Label checkbox to print a text label after the image. You may wish to use Print Label to record what settings the swatch was printed with.

Output - Choose the type of output you want printed.

• Color - Color will print your image with the color setup defined the media.
• Separations - Choose separations if you want a different image printed for each color channel.
